COVID-19 Hospital Protocols

The well-being of you and your pets is our highest priority. In response to the recent developments surrounding COVID-19, we at Desert Hills Animal Hospital and Red Hills Animal hospital are taking extensive precautionary measures to protect our veterinarians, our staff, and our clients while continuing to provide the highest quality of care for your pets.

As of Monday March 23, 2020, we will remain open for all appointments until further notice. We are, however, implementing new protocols as recommended by the CDC:

  • In addition to the rigid cleaning and disinfecting protocols already in place, we have increased the frequency of our cleaning practices.
  • We ask that clients wait in their car until they have contacted our receptionists for further instruction. If you would prefer our veterinarians complete an exam on your pet while you wait in your car, we would be happy to do so in order to support social distancing recommendations.
  • We will be asking all clients if they are experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, fever or any other symptoms to reschedule their appointment. Additionally, if you have left the country in the past 14 days, we would ask you to postpone your appointment for two weeks. If your pet is ill and requires urgent attention we will complete a phone consultation to determine how we can best care for your pet.
  • Clients visiting the animal hospital will be asked to use hand sanitizer upon entering the building.
  • No personal contact (i.e. handshakes, hugs, etc.) will be permitted between clients and staff.
  • We ask that no more than two people accompany your pet for the appointment, however we prefer one person per pet.
  • If you are purchasing products or picking up medications, please call ahead and we will prepare your items and deliver them to your car. We will be handling all transactions over the phone or at your car.

We love you and your pets and are doing all possible to keep our community safe.

Please call with any questions or concerns.
