The History of Red Hills Animal Hospital

In 1998, Dr. Brad Esplin opened Red Hills Animal Hospital on East Tabernacle Street in the same building that Southwest Animal Emergency Hospital occupies today. After five years, Red Hills had grown and Dr. Esplin was ready to bring on a partner.

In 2007, Dr. Scott Hannig sold his practice in Las Vegas, NV and joined Dr. Esplin as a partner. Within 5 years, they had outgrown their current location and in 2013 opened their state of the art hospital on 1100 E 700 S. This new building provided the space needed to bring in new technology and equipment which expanded the procedures and treatments offered to patients.

Our Sister Clinic: Desert Hills Animal Hospital

Our newest location, Desert Hills Animal Hospital, started in November of 2019. Dr. Scott Hannig became a partner in Red Hills Animal Hospital in 2007. And in September of 2013 Dr. Esplin and Dr. Hannig opened the doors to their new state of the art hospital. Dr. Kade Farnsworth joined the hospital as an associate in 2016 and later achieved ownership in 2019. Dr Caleb Gwilliams and Dr. Mark Robison joined the hospital as associates in 2019.

Currently there are three doctors working at Red Hills Animal Hospital and two others working at Desert Hills Animal Hospital (Red Hill’s sister clinic and expansion). With a combined 50+ years of experience and expertise, Red Hills and Desert Hills Animal Hospital veterinarians and staff are proud to provide the best care and compassion to all patients.
